A brand connecting past impact and future possibility

Client: BridgeWell Foundation of Northern Colorado

When they approached Bonfire Effect for branding guidance, McKee Wellness Foundation had been serving Northern Colorado for over four decades. A nonprofit dedicated to elevating the health and wellness of the community, the foundation was at a crossroads. As an independent organization, they were no longer linked to other McKee health entities as they had been in the past. Yet their mission remained steadfast.

To clearly set their work apart and keep expanding their reach, the foundation needed a new name and a new brand to go along with it. One that would honor a rich legacy while bridging the way to more impact.

The challenge

A rebrand honoring heritage while embracing new opportunities

McKee Wellness Foundation was operating within a brand that no longer reflected who they were. While their work continued to strengthen community health, their name and identity often created confusion. Many assumed the foundation still operated within the parameters of regional healthcare systems such as McKee Medical Center or Banner Health. This misunderstanding limited clarity, making it harder for the foundation to grow and move forward.

At the same time, the foundation felt a deep responsibility to honor its history and namesake. Any rebrand needed to clearly establish independence without dismissing decades of impact. They also sought a refreshed visual identity, one that could better express the heart, excitement, and momentum behind their work.

The solution

Distilling the core promise to point the way forward

Bonfire Effect partnered with the foundation to uncover a unifying promise rooted not in a single institution, but in real community outcomes. Through discovery and brand strategy, the work centered on the foundation’s role in bridging gaps in health and wellness across Northern Colorado.

This led to a new name—BridgeWell Foundation of Northern Colorado—along with revitalized messaging and a fresh visual identity. The resulting brand emphasized optimism, energy, and movement, clearly showing where legacy meets vision. To support a smooth transition, the engagement also included change and adoption planning, ensuring the new brand could be confidently introduced to key stakeholders and the broader community.

The effect

From legacy to lasting impact

After receiving unanimous support from the board, the BridgeWell brand was unveiled at the foundation’s annual gala. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with strong affirmation from community members, longtime donors, and emeritus board members alike.

Today, the new BridgeWell brand continues to guide the organization’s efforts, helping the team broaden outreach, strengthen clarity, and touch lives throughout Northern Colorado. Partnering with Bonfire on continued brand strategy work and a new website that launched later in 2026, BridgeWell keeps laying the groundwork for growth and deeper connection everywhere it serves.
